Who’s that girl…it’s Sherry (New Girl fan over here!)

I am first and foremost a dog lover -- I love everything about dogs, the way they move, their unique quirkiness, their unconditional love for their humans, their playfulness and equally their laziness. They can be messy, crazy, spontaneous, loud! I grew up with German Shepherd dogs throughout my childhood. However, it wasn't until a photojournalism assignment in college that opened my eyes to the world of shelter pets and rescue organizations like Stray Rescue, APA, and Gateway Pet Guardians. I am continually amazed and in awe of how much perseverance, patience, and love that rescue volunteers have and all the hard work and long hours they give to help stray animals in need of caring families.

I am an artist --  I strive to capture heart-warming memories of you and your pets. I'm not afraid to get down on the ground and meet them at eye level to see the world they see from their perspective. I want to see what your pets see, and I want to feel what your pets feel. I strive to capture the strengths and quirks that make up their own unique furry ball of personality that makes you love them as your own children. I want to show the world what it is (the spark) that made you fall in love and adopt your pet! I can’t wait to create lasting memorable images you’ll look back on for the rest of your life!

I am Filipino American -- and I'm PROUD! I was born in the Philippines, and I grew up in St. Louis.

I am a dog mom -- I have two fluff balls, Effie and Harvey. Effie is named after Effie Trinket from The Hunger Games. She is a rescued chow mix (I'm pretty sure she's part baby bear). Harvey is named after Harvey Specter from the T.V. show Suits. He’s a Samoyed with all of the sammy sass! My house is a never-ending maze of dog "tumble weeds" floating around. I proudly wear my "dog lint" on my clothes. I wouldn't have it any other way!

Last but not least, I value community over competition -- Photo education and community is so important. I believe we can all learn something new and incredible from each person we meet. In the photography world, it can get a little subjective and competitive, but I believe that if you have a supportive and positive community of photographers surrounding you, we all benefit and grow! If you are a photographer that is just starting out (or even if you are a professional with years of knowledge and distinction & merit) or are new to the STL photo community, don't be afraid to reach out and say hi! I'll make sure to connect you to fellow photographers who might just become your new best friends in the field! Community over competition, ALWAYS!
